Well hello there,
If you’re new here, I’m Courtney. Let’s get personal.
I started my blog That’s So Gold in 2016 thinking that was my passion. I loved fashion, styled shoots, product photography.. but I absolutely d r e a d e d being photographed. I blogged for about 2 and a half years until I realized it wasn’t blogging I enjoyed, it was the photography. The styling, trends, editing and the creation behind each photo was my passion. So, I have slowly stopped blogging. I can’t even remember the last time I actually wrote a blog post up on TSG. But, I love to write. Writing was my favorite subject in school. My blog just wasn’t the style of writing I enjoyed.
Then.. I had an online store. But I wasn’t quite ready for that and called it quits right before our wedding due to not enough time to really commit to it. (Hopefully within the next few years we shall try again?)
I can be pretty scatter brained a lot of the time. I have tried so many different paths, gone different directions on what I want to do in life (fun fact, I have changed my major 5 times. Literally 5.) and then realize that it isn’t for me, and move on to the next thing. Life is all about figuring it out, and I am definitely not afraid of going after what I think is my path, only to find out that it isn’t. You live, you do, and you learn.
So, what’s next for me?
Photography and content creation has been a hidden passion of mine for quite some time, and it is all making more sense to me now. I was getting so discouraged because I turn 25 in May, and I felt that I still did not know what I wanted to do with my life (hello quarter-life crisis).
Boutique photography started for me last year when I was given the opportunity to shoot for The Copper Closet in Jacksonville, FL. That is when I really got into photography again and felt a bit of a light come on in my never ending contemplation on what I wanted to do. When we moved here to Tampa in November, and once again was presented with another amazing opportunity as photographer with Haden Reid Boutique!
This year I plan on finishing up my last few hours and get my degree in Communications (finally) and see where this content creation / photography passion takes me.
Mood boards have become such a fun thing for me. I find it so relaxing putting together images, prints and quotes that inspire me for the month ahead. If you haven’t tried it, do it! It’s so dang fun.
One of my April inspiration is florals. I have always been flower obsessed, but lately it’s been out of control. The other day, I took my Haden Reid model around Tampa to shoot and we spotted the cutest flower truck and had to get a shot. Not only was it inspiring, but it gave me such a retro, vintage vibe and I was so here for it. My style has evolved a lot lately and this entire image was e v e r y t h i n g. I have always had an old soul. I often get told I am an 80 year old woman stuck in a 24 year old body, but I take it as a compliment. The style then was fab.
Fun, uplifting quotes are always inspiring to me. It’s just something about them that just remains in my brain. Like, hey I’m vibin’ and thrivin’ (how fun is that). Good things take time resonates with me so much because of how many things I have tried that were not for me. I’ll find what works for me in time.
Prints I am obsessing over are polka dots and stars. Polka dots have always been my favorite and I love how “in” they are right now. Stars are pretty cool, too.
Well, that’s all for today! This was kind of a random post, but I hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for reading, and coming along with me on this new journey of mine.
See ya!
